Good Primer.

I have been a casual seller on eBay, but I am considering taking it up a notch or switching to book selling on Amazon. This book is a good primer, telling you how to list items and sharing personal experience, which is a technique I find helpful, especially when an author shares trial and error information. Neither eBay or Amazon are get rich quick schemes, but both options allow you to take it slow, although, in my experience, eBay requires more upfront cost. If I had this manual sooner,I probably would have done better along the way, but I held back on 5 stars because the author does some self-promoting, and the writing isn't as interesting as some other how-to books I've recently read.

Disapointed....

After 106 pages of stories of how great E-Bay is and how he & his mother sell on it all the time, the author finally gives some info to the reader on what you need to get started. Unfortunately after another few pages he goes into do's and don'ts that complicate the whole process. At this point Im rather leary of doing anything on E-Bay esp. selling. As of this date Ive turned it all over to my partner including the book. I had hoped for a simple stage by stage set-up for selling, this book was to boring and complicated for this old bird.....

If you're thinking about starting an eBay business this is a must read - should be one of the first books in your how to library . Lots of really useful info and encouragement. I've sold nearly half of the items I've listed in my first 60 days using the tips and recommendations in this book.

As a new Ebay member, I really like this book, it explains very well how Ebay works, why feedback and customer service is important. The writing is fun and it guides you in detail through the DO's and DOn'ts of selling on Ebay. I highly recommend it.
