Product Description
Friendship, love, and forgiveness . . . The Maxwells and the Popes have been friends forever. The women were college roommates, their husbands are partners in the same law firm, their kids have grown up next door to each other, and the two families share both vacations and holidays. Like Wisteria Lane, the "perfect" suburban street of Desperate Housewives, all is beautiful and serene -- until an accident forces these close neighbors to look beneath the surface. And when their idyllic lives are unexpectedly shattered by a moment that can never be erased or forgotten, their faith in one another -- and in themselves -- is put to the supreme test. In this moving, unforgettable story, Barbara Delinsky exquisitely captures the depth and complexity of the human heart as few writers can.

One Indiscretion Ripples Into The Lives Of Others Forever 05 March, 2008 The book is hard to put down because you feel you know these people as you sit on the sidelines and watch their lives unfold. One incident in the quiet of a day one thinks goes unnoticed leads to the unhappiness of two families.......how they recover is the beauty of the text. The characters feel like your neighbors, your family, and when it ends you wish them well and hope for a sequel. It makes you realize how your actions are not always just your own - it ripples like a stone thrown in a pool of water...................where does it stop.

It Was More Than An "indiscretion," But Book A Tale Of Forgiveness In The Real World 25 November, 2008 After reading the first of the book where the indiscretion is described, I put the book away and decided not to read it. But a few days later on, unable to stifle my curiousity (what could possibly happen that made this book so long?), I picked it back up. By the time I reached the end, I decided that messy though it was, it is probably a pretty true-to-life account of forgiveness on the part of members of both families. When viewed in this way, my feelings about the book changed. It was suspenseful, and I couldn't put it down. I ended up liking it, but I don't think I'll be re-reading it! But, I'm looking for another Delinsky treat!

Same Indescretion....one Worse 06 April, 2007 I am reading this book and I am enjoying it....but theres a couple of parts that annoy me.....Sam and neighbor Teke have a 2 min encounter...accident to Tekes son happens....Sam tells about indescretion....okay now theres problems...
OK then Annie...Sams wife....has a little indescretion at the school with a younger student teacher named Jason....feeling sad about Sam....she stopped after he touched her all over....she said it was a mistake.....but here she is....but now still giving Sam a hard time... than theres Tekes husband JD....has been fooling around behind her back for a long time...and he's acting all good and holy being very mean to Teke when he was never honest in his relationship to her! I mean....he don't count! WHAT! Annie should have less attitude since now she wronged Sam...she didn't tell him about it..like he told her....I have about 100 pages left...I hope Delinsky has made it better so I won't be annoyed anymore....I love her as a writer....this is the first book I had a annoyance with....this was my first review ever on a book....enjoy or not.......

How Can You Go Wrong? 18 October, 2007 You really cannot go wrong with any books by Barbara Delinsky. I am hooked by page two in every book that I have read. I really feel like I am in the lives of her characters, and actually get disappointed when the books are over. This book is just one more example of how tragedy and every day lives can be transformed by those around us. Although we move in and out of relationships, there are always people that stay with us, whether we know it or not. Great read!
