Product Description
Enough of the leftist lunatics like Rosie O'Donnell who think "Radical Christians" are "as big a threat to America as Radical Muslims." Enough of the hyperbolic liberal rhetoric comparing Bush to Saddam and Mel Gibson to Hitler. Enough of the hyper-partisan, ultra-PC liberal media, which often seem more sympathetic to the "victims of humiliation" at Abu Ghraib than to our troops dying at the hands of Iraqi fundamentalists. Enough, too, of the gutless wonders on the right who don't have the courage to stand up for their own convictions. Enough of their pandering, trolling for votes, and outspending the Democrats. Now with powerful and provocative new material, Bernard Goldberg's Crazies to the Left of Me, Wimps to the Right sounds an even louder alarm than before—warning that, if the wimps on the right don't regain their courage and reclaim their principles, the crazies on the left just might win the White House in '08.

Canada, Of All Places, Has An Effective Conservative Government... 26 June, 2008 Bernard Goldberg is absolutely correct when he brands THE LEFT as a lunatic fringe, and THE RIGHT as gutless.
But this will always be the case when there is a left leaning media mainstream media that downplays the idiocy of self hating Liberals, and thus causes conservative politicians to "play it safe". Case in point? Right here in Canada, where the media, especially The People's Network, aka the Communist Broadcasting Corporation, oops, sorry the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation goes out of it's way to paint Stephen Harper as being a "scary conservative with a hidden agenda". It doesn't matter that Prime Minister Harper has thus far been the best leader Canada has had in decades; the CBC still yearns for the reincarnatin of Pierre Elliott Trudeau. But the Tories have been in power now for over two years; it is remarkable that their minority position in parliament has lasted so long. Could it be that the Liberal Party and the NDP (New Depression Party) know that if they force an election, the Canadian electorate will notice the good job the Conservative has done thus far and give them the majority government that Canada deserves? The moral of the story? Canada's conservatives have proven that if they stick to what is "RIGHT", pun intended, not even the hostile media can stop thinking people from electing conservatives.

Superb, Whatever Your Political Leanings 12 June, 2008 Bernie Goldberg spares neither the right nor the left from the exposure of their hypocrasy. He calls it like it is. We need more reporting like this, objective, complete, contextual and non-advocacy. I can't wait for his next book.

Don't Judge This Book By Its Title. 04 July, 2008 When this book first was published, I decided that I pretty much knew Goldberg's positions on most of the issues and having read "Bias" didn't think "Crazies..." could add any additional ballast. Boy was I wrong. Fortunately I was going to take a car trip and needed a talking book on CD to help pass the time. I stumbled on "Crazies..." at my library and decided it couldn't be that bad.
Maybe it was the fact the Bernie Golberg read the book that it really struck home as he was able to inject the emotion that you can't get from a page. What ever it was, the book (CD) was stunning.
Goldberg doesn't just rattle off a series of platitudes or invectice criticism, he presents example after example of the type of inconsistent and disengenuous dialogue typically offered by the arrogant left. Further, he criticizes the Republicans for abandoning their core beliefs and not having the courage to stand up to the left. He is particulary critical of journalists who don't do their jobs.
A couple of specific examples from the book show the hypocrisy that is rampant on the left. At a dinner party, a woman opines that we shouldn't judge Palestinian suicide bombers until we understand the root causes of why they are killing allegedly innocent Isrealis. Goldberg counters by asking if the woman if she attempted to determine what the root causes were that led whites in the 1950s south to murder and lynch blacks, Somehow, she didn't see the analogy.
Goldberg presents us with the hypocrisy of the New York Times that choose not to print the Danish cartoons of Mohamad because they should present "gratuitious images that are an afront to a religion." Yet the very next day, the Times publishes an article that deals with the issue of why they didn't publish the cartoons, but somehow sees it as illuminating to the readers understanding of the issue by including a photo of the portrait of Mary the Madonna with elephant excrement. Somehow the Times didn't quite get it either.
Liberals should try to get through this book as it might make one or two at least question their biases.
In summary, I recall a story from "Bias" where an upper west side (of New York City) matron notes that she couldn't understand how Nixon deafeated McGovern since she didn't know one person who voted for Nixon. Oh yeah, Nixon won 49 states in that election. Apparently she didn't get it either.

Thanks For Reiterating, 12 May, 2008 God love Bernard Goldberg. The guy had spent years being indoctrinated in the liberal ways of NY and CBS but is smart enough to evaluate the arguments. He's become a Republican and does a nice job of laying out the arguments. If you are a follower of politics this might be a refresher course but if you are starting to wade in, this is a great book. He rightfully gives both sides their fair share when deserved. Good book.
