Product Description
There was once a little raccoon who wanted to go out in the night -- to know an owl, to see if the moon is a rabbit, and to find out how dark is the dark. But his mother said, "Wait. Wait till the moon is full." So the little raccoon waited and wondered, while the moon got bigger and bigger and bigger. Until at last, on a very special evening, the moon was full.

Stunning Disappointment... 01 March, 2008 I am currently buying & storing children's books for my first Great-Niece (She is now 5-months-old.), which I will send to her at the appropriate ages. I had ordered & received several of Margaret Wise Brown's books, & had found them beautiful & charming, so based on the interesting synopsis & GLOWING customer reviews for Wait Till The Moon Is Full, I ordered it, too. I was stunned at how BORING this book is, both in story & illustrations! All these people who lovingly remember this book from their childhoods must have seen something in it that I don't, or maybe it's just understandable sentimentality on their part - warm memories of having the book read to them while held on a parent's lap. I certainly didn't find the oft-repeated "tenderness" these reviewers spoke of, not like that between Peter Rabbit & his mother, when he returns home from his day's forbidden adventure. The story lacks any surprises, suspense, anything to make a child eager to see what comes next, & the illustrations appear to be done in colored pencils & are dreary, lacking imagination. It isn't that I demand unending excitement from children's books, but I would like something that holds their interest, which I don't predict this book will. This was an out-of-print book bought from a third-party-seller (w/ good service, no complaints there), so I can't return it, just because I believe it will bore a young child "today". I guess that this experience just shows that every book by a wonderful author isn't gold, & that the "best" books we remember from childhood may have been special to us for other reasons...or that every book doesn't wear well for different generations?

A Sweet Little Book 01 June, 2008 This is a sweet little book that I read to my daughter when she was a small child and she loved it. It's about sweet little animal families in the forest. Their words of love are reasurring to any small child and they will ask that it be read to them many, many times. I recommend this book to any mother with small children. She will love it almost as much as they do.

Wonderful Book 05 January, 2007 I bought this for my three year old daughter, largely based on the reviews. She took one look at the cover, wanted to read it, and didn't want to read any other books for the rest of the day. The writing is lyrical and sweet. I highly recommend it.

Simply Love This Book 10 September, 2007 This is just such a sweet, simple story with lovely illustrations. The last page just brings it all together. This is a great book to add to a toddlers collection.

A Priceless Children's Book 06 March, 2008 I read this to my children when they were small (28 years ago) and it is a wonderful book that will be asked for over and over again.
I am delighted to see it has be re-issued. It is a must-have for any children's book collection. Margaret Wise Brown and Garth Williams are two of the most wonderful authors and illustrators I have encountered.
I can't wait to have grandchildren so I can share it with next generation!
