The title seduced me but I am disappointed.
Why on earth this book is published? Where is the novelty? Waste of time, waste of papers, and waste of money!!!!!!!!!!!

Copied From Other Books

I am very disappointed; I thought I will be reading a book crafted by a respected author. Not this time. Material copied from other sources, and the chapters are messed up. The book is more subjective than objective.

Where Is The Beef?
07 November, 2009
Where is the beef??? It appears that people are now bragging about 3 books on Tinseltown's scandals, two are old and one is brand new. Let's start first with Parish HOLLYWOOD BOOK OF SCANDALS. I went through this book page by page and I was disappointed. Parish divided his book in 4 parts. From 1900 to 1980, we read about 22 personalities; stories we already digested and re-digested. Nothing new to the eye. Then, we have articles on 10 people. Those guys feature from page 189 to 262, in the second part of the book; it is essentially a carbon copy of gossip tabloids, also nothing new. WHERE IS THE BEEF? No beef. The title is misleading because Parish did not in any way or form write about 100 American movie and TV idols, but just a few.
The second book is Kenneth Anger's HOLLYWOOD BABYLON. The dark saga of Hollywood scandals. Yes, I know it is archaic, written in the fifties, BUT, it is still hot. And in its controversial element, the book has become a collector item. After all, Anger started the whole mambo jumbo affair. Why this book is still a hot commodity? Because, it is ORIGINAL. Because it the source of all sources. Because it is FUN.
The third book that is making a big splash is HOLLYWOOD EARTH SHATTERING SCANDALS: THE INFAMOUS, VILAINS, NYMPHOMANIACS AND SHADY CHARACTER IN MOTION PICTURES by Maximillien de Lafayette. Well, this one has plenty of new scandals and juicy stuff to sink my teeth in. It covers all the territories, past and present, and I like that. What I liked most about this book is its historical and humoristic approach, and overwhelming amount of pics and elaborate scandalous articles based on superstars quotes and information that came directly from Hollywood studios archives and vaults.

Below Average
04 November, 2009
Taking into consideration the author's position and writing skills, I expected a better product. The book is a compilation of scandals we are familiar with, many of which were already written in numerous books, and circulated some 40 years ago. The book needs more work and certainly new contents.
