Product Description
This workbook presents a diverse conceptual overview of color theory coupled with numerous studies and activities to solidify students’ understanding of design and color concepts through hands-on experience.   This workbook combines both a formal and content-oriented approach to color with students, allowing them to use it both technically and as an expressive tool.  As a practicing artist and an art educator, Becky Koenig has possessed a lifelong desire to master color. She created this text to present a wide range of many color theories, rather than a singular viewpoint. The workbook covers the expanding field of electronic color and discusses color in terms of art history and contemporary art. It includes a variety of student activities that have proved successful in the classroom.

Hands Down The Best Textbook 07 January, 2005 I'm currently a Color Theory student at Savannah College of Art & Design, and was required to pick this exspenive book (not even hardcovered), but I didn't mind. This book has turned out to be the most interesting and fascinating piece of material I've read in my life. It deeply explores both the additive (RGB), subtractive pigment (RBY), and subtractive process (CMY) theories without coming off dry at all... written very much for the average person. Even moreso, the big plus is that it sets aside an ample space for discussing the additive theory in regard to computer apps such as Photoshop and Illustrator, great for me, since I'm a Visual Effects major.
Yes, it's a tad exspensive, however you will not be dissapointed!
