Product Description The "bible" in the field of stage management, Stage Management is a practical manual on how to stage manage in all theater environments. Full of practical aids: checklists, diagrams, examples, forms and step-by-step directions, this book has been used and admired by students and theater professionals alike. It eschews excessive discussion of philosophy and, instead, gets right to the essential materials and processes of putting on a production. In addition to sharing his own expertise, the author has gathered practical advice from working stage managers of Broadway, off-Broadway, touring companies, regional, community, and 99-seat Equity waiver theaters.

Straight-forward And A Good Read! 11 November, 2008 This book is GREAT! The information inside is clear and easily understood. There are lots of personal stories from the author as well as other reputable stage managers from across the country and in various types of entertainment, from opera houses to Broadway. There are examples of different types of forms and paperwork as well!
Not only is the book informative, but Stern writes in a subtly funny tone. This text book is actually very entertaining because his writing style is cohesive and witty. If you need an understanding of Stage Management, I seriously recomend this book!
