Book Description This beloved story stars Rudolph, a young reindeer with a glowing nose. When the other reindeer make fun of him, Rudolph runs away. But with the help of a misfit elf named Herbie and a prospector named Yukon Cornelius, Rudolph learns that you shouldn't run away from your problems. Everyone is thrilled when Rudolph returns to the North Pole, especially Santa, who desperately needs his help!

Remember This Is The "old" Version... 15 January, 2006 Having not seen the orginal Rudolph TV show in a very long time I forgot what the story line was... remember that in this version of the story the snowman eats reindeers and apparently elves or anything else that would be upsetting to a child. There are a couple of scary illustrations in this book. My 3 year old was in love with the Rudolph movie but once he saw this book he refused to ever have anything to do with Rudolph again because he said he "didn't like the scary snowman". Yes, I know it's a classic, but be warned.

The Story Everyone Knows 21 March, 2005 This is a pretty straightforward telling of the classic story, which has taken a firm hold on the American publish as an integral component of the Santa Claus tradition.
I suppose that this is as good a rendition as anything out there, and that every child should have the Rudolph story, so in that sense, I recommend this book. However, I'm not sure that there's anything intrinsically valuable about this story.
But what's interesting about this edition to me is that the pictures are done by Richard Scarry, who has published a long line of terrific books under his name in the years since this came out.

Great Pictures, Great Story 03 December, 2005 The story is written like "twas the night before christmas". I mean it's written in poem form just like that story. The story is great, and the photos are great. Rudolph is really adorable in this book

Very Cute 17 January, 2006 Cute Christmas board book with squeaky Rudolph. My 20-month-old son couldn't make the Rudolph squeak on his own though. But he did like the sound when I would do it.

Love This Book! 05 February, 2007 If you're looking for the story about Hermie, the Abdominal, Yukon Corneilius and the Island of Misfit Toys, this is NOT your book! This book is the original story written in 1939. It is written in poetry form and it is beautiful. It is very well illustrated and a definite keeper. My kids loved this book even though the local heroes weren't in it. I would buy it as a keepsake if nothing else. It's well worth the money.
