 • Forces You To Slow Down And Be In The Present

One of the helpful items in the book is the author's point to have "original awareness". He says that you have to be aware of what you are seeing or reading before any memory device can help. That is a perfect point. Once you are aware of what you want to memorize, you can then use the author's methods to memorize what you want to remember. He has you visualize exaggerated scenes and then has you link them together. He also uses a peg system for ordering so that you don't have to link items together if you don't want to. The peg system is a list of 100 words, each word associated with one of the numbers one through 100. This sounds hard but it really isn't because of the way he teaches you to assign numbers to consonant sounds. His methods have worked for me.
