An Interesting Perspective On Being American 02 May, 2002 The content of this book is derived primarily from first-person narratives and other primary source historical documents. These writings offer the reader a great deal to consider when thinking about the role of Americans in history. The narratives are moving and thought provoking, and really force the reader to reconsider what it really means to be an American. Questions abound about why we aren't told these stories in school, particularly regarding the role this country has played in the lives of other nations. A real "based on a true story" book!

Good Book But Too Expensive 06 October, 2008 I used this book about four years ago in an upper-division college course and really enjoyed it. However, I see that the paperback version now costs well over $60. Not sure why the price of the book increased so dramatically. However, because of the cost, I will not use it for my class in the spring.
