Editorial Review / Publisher's Information:
Product Description The individualized prescription for maximising health, metabolism and vitality in every stage of your life. Your blood type is the key to living a healthy and vibrant life. Dr. Peter J. D'Adamo's groundbreaking work on blood types and their connection to diet and lifestyle has attracted huge attention and support. Thousands of testimonials and new genetic research all confirm that blood type affects your mental health, the way you digest your food and the efficiency of your metabolic and immune systems. His first book on the subject of blood types, "Eat Right 4 (for) Your Type", has consistently been on the bestseller lists.
Amazon.com Review The idea that blood type plays a role in health, wellness, and personality wasn't exactly new when Dr. Peter D'Adamo came out with Eat Right 4 Your Type in 1997. The idea had been around for most of the 19th century, and had gained quite a bit of currency in Japan. But it was a startling idea to most Americans, who made the book a bestseller that was translated into more than 40 languages and spawned a similarly successful sequel, Cook Right 4 Your Type. Now, Dr. D'Adamo--armed with new studies on genetic links between blood types, disease, and behavior--looks at the psychological and medical peculiarities that seem to predominate in one blood type or another. Type O's, for example, have lower than average amounts of a brain chemical called dopamine, leading to poor concentration, hyperactivity, and temper tantrums. A's tend to manufacture too much cortisol, a stress hormone that can lead to hypertension and has even been implicated in Alzheimer's disease and cancer. Type B's and AB's clear nitric oxide out of their systems faster, allowing them to calm down more rapidly than other blood types when stressed. Dr. D'Adamo offers detailed lifestyle modifications for each type, including exercise programs, long lists of food to either seek out or avoid, and suggested treatment of specific illnesses. Some of this gets pretty arcane, including his recommendation of bladder wrack (a seaweed) for ulcer treatment of Type O's. A big part of the appeal of this book series is that anyone reading it can become a participant by joining Dr. D'Adamo's blood-type registry at www.dadamo.com. Live Right for Your Type is peppered with testimonials from these registrants, giving the reader a sense that a true transformation in health, appearance, weight, and well-being is just a few diet and lifestyle changes away. --Lou Schuler

This book came w/ a few marked items, but in very good shape. The markings were for my blood type so they came in handy. I liked the fact that I also helped a charity.

Great Book
01 February, 2010
This is a follow-up book to Peter D'Adamo's Eat Right 4 Your Type. It is a great book and gives down to earth suggestions for handling and managing stress in addition to eating right. The combination of these suggestions should put anyone on the right track to better health. This book tells you exactly what is the best type of exercise for your body, the best way for your body to manage stress and what specific type of exercise handles your stress,(such as aerobics for one blood type and running for another blood type) and why some forms of exercise and diets work for some people and not for others. The recommendations are easy to understand and offer a lot of choices for many different kinds of people.

Informative
13 December, 2009
This book is full of interesting information. This is not a dieting book. I personally had a lot of a ha moments. Things I forced myself to eat because I thought they were healthy turned out to be not so good for me.
Loosing weight following this diet as with any other , you'll have to cut calories.
If you're dealing with health issues this is definitely a good read.

Live Right For Your Type
07 October, 2009
I was disappointed in the info in this book. I thought it was going to be informative and something that I could relate to and follow. It is just another book on what 'could' be. I do not think his work is substantiated to the point that one could believe in his so called 'findings'. Any reviews I read on this book was positive, encouraging and sounded like the good Dr. had something more solid.
