"i Shoulda Read More Closely"

"Suite 606"
I bought this book used from a seller. It fell apart the moment I opened the cover!
I didn't read the details of the book; I only saw the title, "Suite 606" and JD Robb. I was disappointed to find that it was an anthology and each author was new to me. I soon overcame my disappointment! I enjoyed each story and its' author. This was a good way for me to learn of other storytellers! I generally "stick" with my known authors. I suppose some would say, booorrrriing! I say, "I'm playin' it safe!". Well, not anymore! I'm glad I got a pleasant surprise (even if I did have to tape the book together) once I realized there are some very good authors that I wouldn't have known about.

Suite 606

loved it, all the stories interlinked by some small plot point. i love that 4 authors can write 4 totally different short stories, and do that over lap, with out sounding contrived !! Kudos ladies !!

A Little Disappointing...
03 March, 2010
Like many of the reviewers, I was a little underwhelmed with this book.
The Eve Dallas story was a pleasure. The 3 other stories, while not bad, were a little dull and unexciting. While I plowed through the book and did enjoy the little common threads through the stories, I was left feeling unsatisfied.
I admit that I was not familiar with the last three authors of the book (only had previously read J.D. Robb/Nora Roberts), but, unfortunately, reading this sampling of their work did not inspire me to seek out any of their books.

Very Disappointed
29 May, 2009
I bought this because of the J D Robb book, but even though it was a good story, it was disappointing in that it was so very short; about 75 pages? common, let's be realistic here. I knew it had to be short if it was part of what I call a "composit", but this was nothing. The other three? Pfft! I couldn't finish them. They really put me to sleep.
In this case, I knew that Ritual would be the equivalent of a short story, but in general, I really wish there were a way for us, the buyers to know ahead of time when an "In Death" book is a shortie or full length. Buying "blind" from Amazon makes it very difficult to know. There are many instances where two or three of her full length books are published in one volume, so that is not always a way to know with the new "in Death" stories.

3 Out Of 4 Are Good
14 May, 2009
This book is different takes in different times of Room 606. Four authors. The first three grab you and spin their tales well. The 4th on by McDomas is not that good. I am struggling to finish it. The plot is way out there, the story slow moving, and there is not building like the others of a crescendo as the story moves along. All in all the book is worth the money, but don't be surprised if the last story loses the fantasy of the book for you.
