 • Taught Me How To Make My House Really Clean
11 January, 2010

I like a clean house but I started to avoid doing housework because it seemed like I'd spend all weekend working and end up with a house that wasn't really clean. But, after practicing the techniques in Speed Cleaning, I zipped through cleaning my kitchen and bathrooms in 45 minutes. Another 45 minutes and my living room, dining room, and 2 bedrooms were vacuumed, dusted and polished, too. The best part is that I KNOW my home is REALLY, REALLY clean from ceiling to floor--not just surface cleaning, but behind the appliances, the top of the refrigerator, under the chair cushions, under the sofa, the mirrors, the paintings--everything looks good and smells good. Other reviewers have made negative comments about the author hawking his own supplies; however, I was able to implement the techniques and have great results without buying the author's supplies. I used Windex, 409, Pledge, ammonia, Comet, and my own vacuum, cleaning cloths and mop and got GREAT results. The best tips I learned: have all your cleaning supplies in one portable container, have a bunch of cleaning clothes so you don't waste your time rinsing sponges, and be a two-handed cleaner.

 • Great Resourcce!
10 March, 2009

This book is a terrific resource for the "domestically challenged". Do exactly as it says, and cleaning will go faster, and easier. This guy knows his stuff! You might fight the "apron" idea, but it really does work. You can tweak the methods to suit you after you learn the concepts.

 • Purchasing My Second Copy
22 September, 2008

I am buying my second copy today. I teach high school and years ago my copy was loaned to our consumer education instuctor. I have not seen it since, but my high school students have! It is part of their curriculum for their "Independent Living" class. Face it, if our generation wasn't taught to clean very well, I can tell you that the kids coming up are clueless. I teach band, but I find myself teaching how to hang clothes 101 and beginning laundry skills...I digress. Yes, the author sounds a bit "self-rightous" at times, but it is humorous. Any clean freak is bound to be a bit retentive! Just copy his methods and not his persona.

 • Amazing...outdated?
06 February, 2009

I recently started a housekeeping business, and I needed some more information about how to shorten my cleaning times. I got this book a week or two ago, and already I am seeing vast improvements in my times. This book gives you a bulleted list and description of every single move you need to make in order to get your home to look spotless, but not take the whole weekend. I feel like this book will continue to be something I carry with me when I clean homes. However, I think it may need to be updated... terry cloths or cloth diapers instead of micro-fiber towels, etc. These are just petty things, but they would help people that aren't up-to-date with cleaning.

 • 45 Minutes Shazam And All Is Clean, Not!!!
13 April, 2009

I purchased the first edition of the book and although it is geared to team cleaning, and professional they listed the brands of their cleaning supplies. The second edition is geared to the pros and hawks their own brands, it is like paying for a catalog.
