The Sparks Went Off Early 14 August, 2008 This story started out with a nice fast pace.....things were happening one after the other....events were moving.....HOWEVER, only a few chapters into it, it SLOWED down DRASTICALLY......things started moving as fast as the U.S snail service.....i did not like the change because i had gotten used to the beggining.......i've enjoyed other sparks books, but not this one.....it just didn't do it for me.

What A Rescue 31 August, 2008 I really enjoyed reading this book. Nicholas Sparks has done it again! The story starts out with a single mother named Denise is driving through this hellious storm with her 4 year old son Klye in the back seat. She nearly hits a deer and crashes her car. When she comes to, Denise learns that her son, had escaped. Volunter Fire fighter Taylor, comes to the rescue and finds her son.
They run into each other a few other times and they decided to start dating. Taylor and Denise then start to fall for each other. Once they really deep,Denise learns that Taylor starting to drift away. She doesn't understand why.
Theme of the book is that don't be afraid to love someone. If you do then you will be alone for the rest of your life. I think this theme is so true.
I really recommend this book!

Wonderful! 14 July, 2008 From the very beginning this story took hold of me. As a teacher I have worked with many children with different needs over the years. This boy in this story reminds me of one student in particular who holds a special place in my heart. Sparks brings his characters to life with this story of love between a man and a woman, and between a parent and a child.

Sparks Does It Again 29 September, 2008 I've read several Sparks books and this one is one of the better ones. In typical Sparks fashion, love is not worth having if there isn't a little pain in the process. Sounds bad but is apparent in all the Sparks novels I've read thus far. This one is no exception. Denise is a mother of a child with a mis-categorized learning disability. Sparks does an excellent job of developing her character and giving the reader enough insight to understand the conflict a mother of a child with a learning disability faces. You feel her determination, patience, and want her to have the chance to experience more in life. Taylor comes to the rescue in the beginning when her son is lost in a car accident. A relationship begins to develop both between Taylor and Denise and between Taylor and Kyle, Denise's son. Taylor, as with all other relationships, begins to distance himself when things start to get serious. The question then becomes, is Denise the one who can rescue Taylor? This is a beautiful story of love, patience, understanding, forgiveness and second chances.
