Product Description Almost everyone can sing along with the Beatles, but how many young readers know their whole story? Geoff Edgers, a Boston Globe reporter and hard-core Beatles fan, brings the Fab Four to life in this Who Was...? book. Readers will learn about their Liverpudlian childhoods, their first forays into rock music, what Beatlemania was like, and why they broke up. It's all here in an easy-to-read narrative with plenty of black-and-white illustrations!

A Kid's Review 21 November, 2008 The book "who were the Beatles?" is a biography about the Beatles. The story is about four guys from Liverpool, England and how they became world famous stars. The main characters are Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. They played in clubs, bars, and then one day one man named Brian Epstein asked them to play their first concert in Hamburg, Germany. The Beatles ran into a few problems like fighting over songs. Paul is my favorite Beatle because he is the lead singer and guitarist.
I can relate to the feelings of success. When I learn a song without the book on my guitar, I feel successful. I like the book because it is about a band and I want to be in a band.
I like the book because all the characters were interesting. My favorite part of the book is when John gets shot, it was exciting but sad.
I would recommend this book to people who like a little suspense and history.

Who Were The Beatles? 30 August, 2007 I am in fourth grade and I enjoyed reading this book. I read this book for a book report for school. It tells about all the Beatles lives. I learned about John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. When they were twenty-something they were asked to go to Germany, but their parents wouldn't let them. They just went and their dressing room was in the bathroom. I felt sad for them. My favorite part was when they played at Shea stadium. There were 50,000 people! The book doesn't talk all about the Beatles. It talks about the Vietnam War and three famous people who got shot. At the end, there is a timeline of the Beatle's lives and one about the world. You should read this book because it's very interesting.
