Good For Beginners
23 March, 2009
I liked this book and the Dummies series so when I found this..I had to get it. Well, disappointment soon followed. It's not written badly, but I guess I have more experience with cakes then most- although not professional. The book is good if you are starting out, but I was expecting to learn some tricks, techniques and I don't feel I got anything more then what I already knew/learned. Not a bad read, but not so much of a tutorial either.

A Good Book, But...
12 February, 2009
I liked this book as the title really appealed to me. However, as I read on, I found the material a bit over my head. If you really want an easy book on making and decorating great cakes, then Having Fun Making Cakes is much better. After reading that book, I felt as though the author really knew me. His words spoke through the pages directly to me and soon I was making cakes that would turn Martha Steward into a quivering ball of jealousy.

Very Good...like All The Dummies Books
20 April, 2009
I found this book very informative and good; the only thing I have to say about it is that some of the advices about products to buy are not that "must have" as it says, but if you can get'em, do it. Also, I think it opened my mind to new ideas, so I'll work on designs of my own instead of another books that are step-by-step guides.
If you are just beginning or intermediate, this is a very good choice to know the ABC of baking and decorating; I dunno if you're more pro if it's that good for you too.
I complement the reading with some videos I can watch on the web, and I think I'm making a good job.

Love It
24 September, 2009
I have done cake decorating for many years and have now decided to do it as a side business. This book has really helped me with a lot of things I thought I knew, but actually didn't. I ordered several other books but they still look new, this you can tell has been used. Great cake recipes and ideas about starting a business.

Needs More Pictures
25 January, 2009
I bought this as a gift for my daughter. She says it doesn't get five stars because it needs more pictures. Otherwise, she is pleased.
