Customer Reviews:

 • Grant Writing
04 November, 2007

A waste of money as the grant writing examples do not fit non-profit organizations. Workbook style and who has time to do the pages plus write the grant!

 • Very Useful Book
08 March, 2007

I have been reading lots of books on how to write grants, being new to the field. They are all good, this one is concise and well laid out, the information is clear and the samples are good. I would recommend it. We will see how successful I am...that will be the real test of how well the book worked.

 • A Great Workbook For Those Learning The Ropes Of Grantwriting
08 April, 2009

I am fairly new to the grant writing territory: I have EVERYTHING to learn about putting together a grant proposal. As overwhelming as it appears (and it is), this workbook takes some of the pressure off by giving you a true step-by-step approach loaded with examples, worksheets (which happen to be included in the accompanying CD-ROM), examples and advice to help you maneuver through the process of applying for grants. As pointed out by other reviewers, the focus of the book is on private foundation grants. But that doesn't make it any less valuable. With "Writing Grants Step by Step" you go from the planning and research stages all the way to putting together your budget and organization to support your program proposal. Icing the cake, there are even steps on how to write the proposal summary and how to put the package together. As a nonprofit executive still learning the ropes of this space, I highly recommend reading this title before getting started with any grant writing process.
