Entertaining

I'm a long time fan and there have been books that I liked and others I didn't. This trilogy was certainly better than the Garden Trilogy. I don't think The Pagan Stone, Gage's story, was quite as strong as the first two books in the series which was a disappointment.
I give it a 5-star because it was a good book. It held my attention, I enjoyed the dynamics between Gage and Sybil. I didn't find it boring or unbelievable. It was a nice conclusion to the trilogy.
Now, to be fair the only point that disappointed me was that I was hoping to see a bit more between Gage and his Father. The build-up was there from book one but I just didn't feel like their problems were dealt with. Gage was a brilliant character and I really enjoyed his story.

My Favorite So Far...
16 March, 2010
I love Nora Roberts, period. Her descriptive abilities is like poetry to me. Being more of a fantasy/paranormal reader, I enjoy her series that deal with magic the best and the Sign of Seven series is the best out of those series. The entire series is about three young boys who unwittingly unleash a demon who comes back every seven years to wreak havoc on their town and grows in power each time. As adults, the boys have continued to fight the demon and figure out to get rid of it. It's only when three women with bloodlines tied to the demon somehow, arrive in town that together all six are able to really battle the demon.
The Pagan Stone is the final book of the three that ends with a final culmination of sacrifice. It stars bad boy gambler Gage who will sacrifice anything for his friends and overly intelligent gypsy Cybil who is more than a match for Gage. True to form, Nora makes these characters real and people to care about while they have a mission to fulfill that seems almost impossible.
I can't say enough about it. Buy the entire series, you won't be let down.

At Last - The End

**spoiler warning**
I really wanted to find out how what happened to the Hollow and how the demon was demolished so I stuck with it and finished. AS I have said in my reviews of the other 2 , I am not usually a reader of romance so my jaded view of that genre colors my reviews.
This third of the trilogy is essentially the story of the most troubled of the "Blood Brothers," Gage. Gage is an interesting character and some of the scenes with his parents (or impersonations of them) are moving. That Gage becomes involved with the sassy Cybil is predictable.
I had been waiting for another generation since book 2, when that was hinted at but went nowhere, so I was not surprised when all 3 gals are pregnant. What becomes of the babies remains unknown as it probably should be.
Carefully edited, this trilogy would have been a good creepy suspenseful story contained in one book. Three made it just too drawn out.

If you are watching the HBO series True Blood you will love this book. The TV show follows the book really well.
