Abandonment
24 November, 2009
I fully understand why many of Nora's faithful fans have disliked this book. They feel abandoned. She has changed her standard format of "strong woman coming to strong man who doesn't change her." It is somewhat like making a hamburger out of lamb -- unexpected although enjoyable.
Putting aside Nora's insistence on talking about flowers, and in this case, paint colors and plumbing fixtures, my disappointment was in the ending. It's just too much like Miss Marple in the sitting room, solving the whodunnit. All of a sudden, we know the villain.

Absolutely Horrible
22 August, 2009
I have pretty much read everything NR wrote and unfortunately this is one of her worst books with the exception of Midnight Bayou.
I do not know what is happening with NR but her last few books have been really bad including her latest J.D Robs books in the in death series (which I adore)!
This book suffers from the same malady that seems to plague her books these days:
- shallow/cardboard cut-out characters
- a boring relationship
- a boring plot and contrived motives
- trite dialogue. who speaks like that!
- nauseating detail about a boring subject: if I wanted to learn about construction and remodeling I would buy a book from Home Depot.
- an unbelievable villain that is sprang on us at the end
Skip it!
My recommendation instead would be for older books such as Honest Illusions (my absolute favorite), The circle triology (my favorite of her triologies), High Noon, The Reef, the three sisters trilogy (the best was Face the Fire),
I also enjoyed Birhtright, Three fates, The chesapeake quadrology, Carolina Moon, and Homeport

Loved It! Loved It! Loved It!
02 November, 2009
The book warns you that you won't be able to put it down and they were so right. The storyline was right down my alley though, being the 'do it yourselfer' that I am.
I have already passed it along to my book buddies and so far three of us came up with the same conclusion. It was awesome!

Best Nora Roberts Ever!
04 January, 2010
I think that "Tribute" is Nora Roberts' best book ever!
As always it is wonderfully written, but I add "Hilarious" and
"So Much FUN to read" to my description as well!
This is a mystery-story and a romance, and So Much MORE!
Borrow it or buy it, just Read it; you won't be sorry you did!
