Product Description
Although gambling is enjoyable entertainment and can provide unparalleled excitement, it can financially drain and ruin some people. This manual is a roadmap and workbook for the problem gambler or potential problem gambler, who can not control the amount of money he/she loses, to seriously give up on gambling.

This work is based on over 25 years of experience in gambling by the author, who shares his insight with the reader. While attending college, the author began gambling at 18 in local New York City OTB parlors and New York horse racing tracks. Then he got caught up in casino gambling, when it debuted in Atlantic City. He also dabbled in most other forms of gambling, in lotto, poker, and sports betting. As much as the author loves to win, he hates to lose in gambling. So, after 25 years and losing a small fortune, he decided to give up on his quest of becoming a consistent winner. This book describes the way he finally coped with and quit gambling. There is also ample space for the reader to write down his/her own thoughts on how to quit gambling to personalize the manual for his/herself.

This is a just the Facts type approach to problem gamblers. It is a good material for the problem gambler to refer back to as a reminder of what that failure has cost him and why it isnt in anyones best interest to continue down that path. Problem gamblers can use this material as it is helpful to have around as a reminder when the gambling itch tempts a chronic gambler to scratch a losing path again. i recommend it

 • A Way To Quit Gambling?
10 February, 2008

The reader of this book would be better served by going straight to the back of the book and contact the organizations listed in the appendix such as GA or the National Council on Problem Gamblers. There is nothing in this book that would benefit the compulsive gambler and help him/her stop gambling. It is poorly written. There are numerous points throughout which take up page space. Example from Page 44: "Consider the benefits of not gambling. You will not be able to lose. By not losing, your finances will improve in disbelief. Also, emotional turmoil and stress associated with gambling will vanish." There are other equally simplistic points throughout. I found this book of little or no benefit.
