Clever Book 19 December, 2007 This is a clever cookbook because it's written with lots of helpful hints and suggestions.
However, I did try the molten chocolate cakes and while the recipe is good, I would really like to know
how to use the paper muffin cups and remove them easily after the cakes are cooked. It doesn't work
and I'd love to know an alternative and/or a way to make them work.

Makes Entertaining Less Stressful 20 April, 2008 This book is a good tool for entertaining. You can make the meals as fun or fancy as you like. The author helps you put meals together, gives timing ideas and the recipes are very good. The Sloppy Joes are just delicious, everyone at our gathering LOVED them. I used many recipes for our Easter Brunch, and all were very tasty and completed mostly in advance. I have given this book to my daughter-in-laws and they have all used it and enjoyed it.

Great Variety 30 September, 2008 This cookbook has a great variety of recipes (though it's light on vegetarian/vegan options) and solid advice for planning big meals. Many of the recipes are dressed up basics with very good instructions (not an eclectic cookbook). There are lots of options and the recipes range all over world cuisine.
The cookbook's most unique and useful feature is the commentary at the end of each recipe that includes shortcuts, variations, what to serve it with, how far ahead you can prepare it and ideas for leftovers.
If you already entertain and feel comfortable planning out what you're going to serve, the cookbook isn't as valuable to you.

Perfect Every Time 21 December, 2008 This book was a lucky find for me. It's difficult to find a book with recipes that turn out well the first time you make them but this book has saved me countless times when cooking for a crowd due to its recipes that are universally enjoyed (sometimes difficult to accomplish with a roomful of guests) and very easy to follow. I think the Strata might be my favorite so far. Highly recommended...

The Gift That Keeps On Giving! 02 January, 2009 I was given this cookbook as a gift by my boss two Christmases ago. I have used it constantly since then. The saucer sized oatmeal cookies recipe is used so often the pages are starting to show it!
I love Pam's writing style, and it's great that there are suggestions about which recipes to pair together to create a party that works with a theme of food. And of course, every single thing I've made from the book is delish!
