Got Textbook For Class
03 December, 2007
It is an OK introduction to security. It covers many aspects. Some chapters have too many quotes. At times it seems like a student's research paper turned into a book.
It shipped much earlier than indicated. I could have used super saver shipping and got it in time and got free shipping.

95% Obsolete

This is a 1975 edition, so only has value if you are completely new to the field. Probably good in its day.

Not Obsolete - Newer Versions Are Available Though
21 December, 2008
I disagree with whomever wrote this text was outdated. There are many valuable concepts in this book and I can't think of anything in this book that can't be applied to security today. It may be missing some of the new technologies but everything in it is still current.
It is a good read and well organized. I picked this up for an Intro to Security class in college.
