Editorial Review / Publisher's Information:
Product Description IT insider Joseph J. Byrne shares his strategies for gaining the technological edge in Internet professions with the i-NET+ Certification Study System. As a member of the CompTIA's i-NET+ exam objectives team, he knows how to help you focus your study, assess your weak spots, and practice to perfect your skills and pass that test. After explaining Internet basics and client-side issues, this course presents the steps to creating a Web page and advanced techniques. One exercise walks you through setting up a practice Web site. The larger issues of networking, infrastructure, and security are discussed; and a quick, critical look is taken at the role of e-commerce inside all of today's commerce. In the appendixes, handy crib sheets provide an examination blueprint, exam prep tips, and Q&As to quiz you along the way. A CD-ROM features more than 100 sample questions and a variety of exams in an interactive format, with a way to track your progress through historical analysis. Covers: Exam IKO-001

Very Basic Info
07 December, 2001
I received this book on Tues and just took the test and passed 3 days after. The book has very basic info for those of us in the industry, however it does cover the exam questions (or about 90% of them). This book has very little reference material, so buy it used.

Good For The Novice
14 November, 2001
Be careful, if you already have some knowledge about the internet and computers, shy away. It was written in such a basic way, it was hard to get into the book. Too much fluff for someone who has some knowledge, just need to get the rest of the story and then move on. If this sounds like you, don't get this book. If you don't know what a modem is, get this book. It's a good start.

Too Much Info -- Cd Is Full Of Junk.
08 February, 2002
Don't get me wrong -- this book while decent, just seemed to get off track and didnt in my opinion FOCUS on the exam topics. While some have said good things about the cd -- i think it is full of useless stuff, and the exam questions where an afterthought, as compared to what is actually on the exam.

A Great Book If You Have Baseline Knowledge
04 October, 2001
I really liked the way this book was written. What people must know is that certain terms are not explained (even on the first mention) meaning that the author assumes you know a certain amount about the basics. I appreciated that, because too many books re-hash the same old things that most people already know, while exam time is looming closer.(and Christmas) I'm not an expert either, by the way, I've had no previous experience in the industry, but have been studying for the last nine months for a diploma in computer enginnering, and managed to pass the Windows98 MCP exam in August. I passed the i-Net+ exam with 88%.To sum up, this book has a strong focus on exam objectives, and for me, it answered a lot of questions that I couldn't seem to find answers for previously. Thanks Joseph!
