Product Description On the longest night of the year, Jenny Majesky loses everything in a devastating house fire. But among the ashes she finds an unusual treasure hidden amid her grandfather's belongings, one that starts her on a search for the truth, and on a path toward a life that she never imagined. The Winter Lodge, a remote cabin owned by her half sister on the shores of Willow Lake, becomes a safe refuge for Jenny, where she and local police chief Rourke McKnight try to sort out the mysteries revealed by the fire. But when a blizzard traps them together, Jenny, accustomed to the safe predictability of running the family bakery, suddenly doesn't feel so secure. For even as Rourke shelters her from the storm outside, she knows her heart is at risk. Now, following her dreams might mean walking away from her one chance at love.

Nice Read But A Few Funny Things 13 July, 2008 I thought this was a good read. I enjoyed the book and wanted to read it. There were a few things I thought funny though. 1) The character mentions the author of Harry Potter well before she became a popular writer and 2) One character says she wanted a laptop computer in a year I don't beleive they were available for in home use. Those oddities didn't stop me from enjoying the book but I was surprised she none of the editors caught these things.

The Winter Lodge 01 January, 2008 My husband was going to order me a book for Christmas and he was not sure which Debbie Macomber books I had read. Below her book list was if you like Ms Macomber books you might like these books. I had been looking at the winter lodge book and was very glad that list was there for him to choose from.

Interesting. 25 March, 2008 I began the Lakeshore chronicles with book one and have continuted through all four. I like the continuance of the characters from book to book without the redundancy that so many books seem to have. The stories flow from character to character and event to event and are an intersting and light-hearted reading. I enjoyed the journey through their accomplishments and their setbacks and the determination to move ahead.
