Product Description All the information you need to design your own complete antenna system.
Since the first edition in September 1939, radio amateurs and professional engineers have turned to The ARRL Antenna Book as THE source of current antenna theory and a wealth of practical how-to construction projects. Use this book to discover even the most basic antenna designs-- wire and loop antennas, verticals, and Yagis--and for advanced antenna theory and applications. Many of the antennas in this edition benefit directly from advances in sophisticated computer modeling.
This 21st edition has been extensively revised to include information you can use to build highly optimized or specialized antennas. The book includes new content on Near Vertical Incidence Skywave (NVIS) techniques, phased arrays, S-parameters as used in modern vector network analyzers (VNA), Beverage receiving antennas, mobile screwdriver antennas, ionospheric area-coverage maps, and much...much more.
Fully searchable CD-ROM included! Bundled with this book is a CD-ROM containing The ARRL Antenna Book in its entirety, using the popular Adobe® Reader® software for Microsoft® Windows® and Macintosh® systems. View, search and print from the entire text, including images, photographs, drawings...everything!

This Is The Antenna Bible 17 April, 2008 This is the bible for ham radio antenna design. Also covers transmission lines and propagation. Both theory (at graduate EE level) and practice (at the level of mere mortals). -- ws2i

Remains An Excellent Value 22 July, 2008 As this purchase was to replace my copy of an earlier edition that was lost in a tornado, I didn't have any reservations in buying the latest edition, still a great resource. A nice balance of theory and construction how to do it. I do like that the print edition now comes with an electronic edition.

Yet Another Great Book By Arrl. 06 September, 2008 You know, I'm just starting out in HAM radio and I was very excited to hear that ARRL makes all these books. So I've been buying them here and there. This one, the antenna book, explains it all (about antennas). It's awsome ! Good from new to experianced !

A Classic - And At A Discount From Amazon 17 September, 2008 ARRL publishes a handful of titles that occupy the pinnacle in ham radio publishing, including their license manuals, Operating Manual, Handbook, and, of course, the Antenna book. There is nothing that really compares to ARRL's antenna book in terms of either raw coverage or quality. While there are engineering texts and a ham radio titles that dive far deeper on narrow topics, the ARRL Antenna book covers a vast range of antenna types and topics - and in more detail than the majority of hams will ever care to absorb. This book can be read for its more advanced technical content or, alternatively, be used quite effectively as a project book. I don't often see this book discounted. I couldn't find it new at a discount at the last hamfest I attended, for example, nor is it discounted at my local (unnamed) ham radio store. Couple that with free shipping from Amazon, and it's a deal!
