Great Book 05 August, 2008 I bought this book for my class. This book contains the latest standards in the electrical industry. The pictures in the book also give you a head start on working with circuits.

Nec Review 23 June, 2008 I like the NEC because it is a guide for preforming electrical jobs in the workplace. If I don't know the local jurisdiction's preference, I can use the NEC and proceed from there with little fear of reprisal from those concerned authorities. I like the fact that there is a national standard that field techs can refer to for quick reference and guidance on job assignments. This book can save a lot of telephoning for answers to electrical questions.

Handbook Is A Usefull Tool 30 September, 2008 The NEC Handbook is a large book that won't fit into your toolbox but it is a good reference and project planning resource. I found the explanations to be clear and, in my case as an occasional electrician, apropos for my objectives. The graphics and use of color in diagrams adds to the quality experience when using the book. Eric R. Lewis, Ph. D.

Nec 2008 Handbook 23 July, 2008 This is not a book for the average do-it-yourself. It is, however, the Bible for professional and apprentice electricians, engineers, professional inspectors, and construction professionals who design, build, maintain, and approve residential, commercial, industrial and agricultural electrical systems.
If you are just looking to remodel your bathroom you don't need to buy this book---though you may want to refer to it. If you are making a living in the construction trades, then this book is an essential part of your toolbox.

I Laughed, I Cried 05 October, 2008 The NEC 2008 Handbook is a great book. It's the best non-addictive cure for insomnia since Benadryl. It's thick enough to be used as a pillow -- and yet, at the same time, its hard cover makes it an ideal lap table for working while commuting via bus or rail. It's heavy enough to be used as both a doorstop and a weapon of self-defense.
The story line is a little weak in places, and I don't think we'll ever see a movie version of it, but I predict that it will be invaluable to archaeologists 2000 years from now.
(Honestly, I'm not sure how to review a handbook for the National Electric Code, but I can say that the explanatory text and accompanying illustrations make the Code do a good job of explaining the Code and, hopefully, making it easier to remember.)
