Product Description
Illustrates how aspects can offer a profound depiction of an individual and his or her destiny. • Contains comprehensive sections full of interpretations for every planetary combination. • Concepts are explained through the use of actual birth charts and diagrams. • A core textbook at the Faculty of Astrological Studies in London. Aspects are an essential piece of the astrological puzzle when it comes to interpreting and using the information that astrology can give us. It is not enough to know the placement of the planets on the horoscope. It is the relationships between the stars and planets that let us grasp the destiny of the individual. Aspects describe the drama of our lives--the complex configurations that influence what will happen to us over time. Sue Tompkins, a fellow of the Faculty of Astrological Studies in London, shows how to interpret aspects when doing daily astrological readings. She uses the lives of real people to plot the aspects and offers examples of every possible planetary combination. Detailing the influence of oppositions, trines and elemental trines, and cardinal, mutable, and fixed crosses, Tompkins shows how aspects provide the energy in the chart that transforms the horoscope into something symbolizing an alive and vital human being. With Aspects in Astrology, Tompkins provides both the novice and the experienced astrologer the evidence and concrete methods needed to grasp the vast knowledge offered to us by our horoscope.

Good 31 March, 2008 In depth analysis of the way different planets combine in aspects. Does not narrow down by aspect, but, for example will have 2-3pages on mercury-venus instead of having different, shorter paragraphs for each different type of aspect. I really liked it.

Aspects In Astrology 24 October, 2007 This book offers good in depth descriptions of planetary contacts through aspects, some of which I thought were right on. However, it mostly describes what happens with hard aspects. It only mentions briefly how some of the issues in the life would be easier if it were a trine. Although, there are in depth descriptions of the meaning of quintiles, semi-sextiles, sesquiquadrates, etc. in general, he does not indicate the difference if a planet makes that kind of an aspect vs a true hard aspect. I would have liked to have heard the significant differences, instead of having to infer them myself.

Excellent Choice, Add This To Your Collection Sooner Than Later 27 January, 2008 I have owned this book for a few years now. Though I am enrolled in a super correspondance course I also turn to this book in addition to the material I've been given. If I recall, this is a reprint of a much sought after OOP book. If so, I am grateful. Just when your brain is stuck on a symbolism or you need a fresh idea- crack this open. Full of insightful knowledge that exudes confidence, experience and practical application. This book is about uniting planetary symbols for interpretation. No chart delineation is included and it's not intended to be. You will instantly recognize the truth in the pages.
