Absolutely The Best Book On Property Management
17 August, 2009
This book is so good that if you are not a landlord, it makes you want to own a rental just so that you can try the tips in this book. This book is about customer service for residential property management. We have all heard horrible stories of bad tenants. The author says that the key is first attracting the right tenants. He then describes methods of how to deal with them to have the best working relationship that is a win-win for both sides.
Many real estate investors believe that the key to success is to find the right property, negotiate well, close the transaction, and wait for the big bucks to come. Well, the author says that property owners who ignore their tenants and neglect the necessary maintenance suffer more losses than they realize. When their properties deteriorate, they cannot attract good tenants, they cannot obtain high rents, and they cannot get a high price when they decide to sell it. If you don't want this to happen to your property, you must read this book. I would say that if you wanted to read only one book on property management, it would be this book.

Every Landlord's Bible
16 February, 2008
If there is ever a need for a landlord book, this is it. For California residents, I also suggest using The California Landlord's Law Book: Rights & Responsibilities. These two books go hand in hand together.

Very Helpful!
13 October, 2008
This book offers great advice. It covers topics that I hand't even thought of that one would need when trying to rent out their property. Also, it offers "sample" leases, deposit forms, credit check forms which I was able to just copy and use for when I rented out my property. I definitely recommend this book.

Way Too "wordy"
21 November, 2008
I'll keep this short; this book has very good information but is EXTREMELY wordy. I cannot believe the author gets qualified tenants with all the paperwork he has and hoops he makes applicants jump through. An experienced landlord will not believe the forms included in the back of the book and how bloated/wordy they are. I can't believe the author is employed as a teacher; he is incapable of writing in a succinct fashion.

This Book Offers The Best Overview Going!
19 April, 2008
A very, very useful, comprehensive work that gets you the lay of the land, and does not bog you down in extraneous details.
You REALLY want to read this before you even think about going into the landlord business.
