Editorial Review / Publisher's Information:
Product Description Lasers is both a textbook and a general reference book with an emphasis on basic laser principles and theory. A unique feature is that it gives a complete, detailed, and accurate treatment of laser physics, building only on classical models, without requiring the reader to have a quantum mechanical background. It is for all scientists and engineers who work with lasers.

Great Book For The Laser Physics And Engineering!
16 August, 2009
This book provides the very good and thorough overview of the modern as well as classical laser physics. I recommend this book for a serious laser scientist and engineer. Starting from the black-body radiation to the quantum-well semiconductor lasers, it touches upon various aspects, including mathematical models, governing equations.

A Great Book With Detailed Explanation
07 February, 2010
This book contains all the information a student would need to learn about lasers from a classical stand point of view. Unlike most other books fail to explain many aspects of lasers, this book does the job just right.

This book explains complicated science in simple flowing english and I would definitely recommmend this to anyone who needs to know the basics and the not so basics of laser systems.

Big Ol' Laser Book
01 January, 2010
This isn't a coffee table book. This is a coffee table. Seriously, this book is humongous. But, if you want to know anything about light, lasers or the meaning of life (for a physicist), then this is the book for you. Also, the writing style is refreshingly human for a physics text, along the lines of Griffiths or Hecht.

Great Book!

Perhaps the most complete and in-depth book on lasers out there with great narrative and not just a bunch of equations thrown at you.
