Editorial Review / Publisher's Information:

Product Description
The Photoshop for Architects DVD-ROM (plays on computer, not on TV) contains screen captured computer videos with audio narration by well known architectural software training guru. The 97 videos play for over 5-2/3 hours total running time, and offer you a complete learning experience. Drag the video time slider to instantly jump forward or backward in the video to what you want to learn.

Essentials
Scott teaches you Photoshop Essentials in videos 1-35. Every Architect, Designer, Engineer and Contractor using Photoshop ought to know these essential concepts: how images are stored, how measured drawing scale relates to image resolution, learn a host of digital photo retouching techniques, and get the most out of powerful vector tools.

Plans & Elevations
Videos 36-76 explain how to create colorized plans and elevations, starting with line drawings in AutoCAD. Learn how to create entourage (people, trees and props) from digital photos, cast soft shadows to give the illusion of depth and more. Transform your drawings to act as excellent and cost effective marketing and visualization images.

Compositing
In videos 77-97, Scott teaches you the art of Compositing, or manipulating vector objects as image layers. Starting with a simple 3D model in 3ds max/VIZ, you learn how to create a beautiful 3D visualization in Photoshop without waiting for traditional photo-realistic rendering calculations. Includes powerful MAXscript that partially automates the process and step-by-step instructions.

System Requirements:
1. Microsoft Windows 95 or later.
2. Graphics card that supports at least 1024x768x32 resolution.
3. Sound card and speakers.
4. DVD-ROM player in your computer (will NOT work on TV based DVD players).

Although this DVD-ROM was expressly written for Adobe Photoshop 7, almost all of the concepts and techniques shown can be applied to other versions of Photoshop. There is no printed material with this DVD-ROM.

 • Great For The Beginner And The Professional
27 November, 2007

this is a great CD , I'm a beginner , I didn't use photoshop before , and I found this CD to be a great resource and it is introduced from an architect NOT a programmer or graphic designer.

 • Just Another Tutorial
06 April, 2008

Was disappointed when the package arrived, all i received was a disk in a blank CD package. Felt the add on Amazon was misleading in that the diagrams are part of a book and CD-ROM package. Not to be, was not worth the money as i was expecting a book to accompany the disk. It's just another tutorial that you can download from other sites.

 • Pleasant Surprise
03 November, 2006

Scott Onstott provides a wealth of information on his CD in a very easy to understand format. Included is a wealth of topics with short video's explaining the concept and /or execution of the topic. Easy to follow and gives you the option to move ahead of topics based on level of experience without being forced to go through basics one might already understand. Topics are relevant and can be immediately be applied in workplace.

 • A Great Investment
10 July, 2006

I am an graduate architecture student. This "Photoshop for Architects" works well with students like myself. I appreciate the in-depth analysis on how AutoCAD and Photoshop work well together. Plus, the author explains reasons why he approaches particular situations with these programs. A great investment.

 • Excellent Resource
07 October, 2008

I have not finished viewing all the tutorials but so far so good. These are extremely informative and make architectural illustration look easy. I gave it a 4 out of 5 because I just wished the tutorials were also in written format so I could do them at my own pace. Still, highly recommended in any library.
