Good Book

Makes everything easy to understand. It is a Principles books, so do not expect it to go too deep into topics. For beginners or people looking for a nice overview of the security field, this book is a good choice.

Solid Introductory Text
31 October, 2009
This is solid introductory text to the field of information security. it is not a comprehensive encyclopedia of everything there is to know about info. sec. It only covers higher levels of abstraction (if I can use that term) on the topics. For instance you will learn many new and important keywords and concepts, but not in comprehensive way. It gives you nice overall survey of the issues in info.sec. but obviously, to know more about any particular subject you will need to drill down somewhere else. And this is not problematic, because if the scope of this book is to be introductory, then it accomplishes it's goal.
On the negative side, first chapters on legalities are rather boring.
