Book Description At the junction of the Columbia and Willamette rivers blooms the "City of Roses." Under the watchful gaze of Mt. Hood, Portland has grown over the last century to become Oregon's largest city, an international port, and a major center of manufacturing and culture. Every important building, street, park, and neighborhood is documented in Portland Then and Now. The First Interstate Bank of Oregon Building dominates the skyline, while residents and visitors find shade and beauty in Washington Park and the International Rose Test Garden. Archival photos shown side by side with modern shots of the same scene reveal Portland's changing face.

An Interesting Pictorial Of Porltand's History 09 August, 2005 This book provides some great pictures of historic Portland and compares them with current Portland images. While it's not the most expansive piece regarding Portland landmarks, it captures important aspects of Portland's history.

Portland Then And Now By Linda Dodds 12 March, 2005 What an interesting idea it was to take current pictures from the same angle as old photos of Portland. The book is well done and anyone who has lived in Portland and enjoys history will love this book
