Not very great , but OK. Not really new ideas.Presentation takes a lot of energy - I am the cook who does not like a patchke , but loves to eat.
I am never , ever fond of descriptions like "3 potatoes " ;experience has taught me that potatoes, onions , whatever , seem to have a different weight here in Europe as opposed to the USA and I prefer weights ( even approximate, imperial or metric is a matter of indifference , but SOMETHING ! ). Why is that hardly done in US cookbooks ?

All of Susie Fishbein's books are worth buying, and aside from the easy to follow directions the photography is par none. Awesome. Something for just about everyone in her books. Her books are the type you use over and over, and share with family and friends. And with the slow economy and folks looking for ways to save money as well as create and give quality gifts, her books are excellent!!

This new cookbook has pictures and recipes that are true to its title. I made 3 different recipes one evening for dinner and everyone of them turned out to be fabulous. The two-toned tomato pesto tart was a real winner and with tomatoes coming into season everyone should try this one -it was easy and fast to make. I used it as my first course rather than a salad. The spicy potato stacks were an interesting addition to my meal. My main course was a prime rib and the dessert was a chocolaholics favorite - warm runny chocolate souffles. Since everyone is short on time one or two of these recipes work very well when preparing dinner for your family or company and you will have fabulous food faster.
