Customer Reviews:

 • Poorly Designed And Full Of Typos
26 February, 2007

This is one of the most poorly written and designed study guides that I have ever come across. It is absolutely riddled with typographical errors - unacceptable in any publication, much less one that is being used to help prepare for teacher certification. Numerous questions were vague or ambiguous, in some instances requiring a completely subjective response. Note to prospective test-takers, you will never be asked a question on the Praxis exam that starts "What is PERHAPS the MOST controversial issue in... ." In one case the author actually admits to using a trick question. The single most annoying feature of this book, in my opinion, is that all the answers to the practice questions are given in bold, black text immediately BELOW the question! In other words, you must shield your eyes with a piece of paper or some other device in order to keep from reading the correct answer while reading the question! Unbelievable. It makes the book nearly useless as a true "practice" sample test. I would highly suggest purchasing a good Intro to Art History book instead, or dust-off your old Gardner's and reread the chapter introductions. You'll save money and be better prepared.

 • Don't Waste Your Money On This Item!!
08 September, 2007

I wish I would have read the other reviews before I purchased this book. It was a complete waste of energy to review this...I learned more from studying my art history books and thank goodness I did. I should have bought the $40 study guide from the Praxis exam center. I guess that is what I get for trying to save a buck!

 • A Waste Of My Time And Money.
05 August, 2007

None of the information in this book was on the Praxis II 131 or 133 tests. I bought this book to aid in my review for the tests. Upon taking the tests I discovered that none of the information in the practice test was on the actual tests. In fact I would say this book hurt my study efforts by causing me to waste time reviewing for materials that wouldn't be on the test such as set construction, costume making, and jewelry techniques. I am absolutely disgusted that I wasted my money!!!

 • Helpful But Frustrating
05 August, 2007

I bought this book to prepare for the Texas art content exam. I took the exam and passed with flying colors. This doesn't mean that this book was great, but it did assist me in getting where I needed to go. I do agree completely with the other reviewer... The answers right below the questions was incredibly annoying. Many of the questions were worded in an ambiguous way as well, which I found highly annoying as well.
