Too Much Splenda
16 March, 2010
I like the recipes. The only complaint I have is the use of Splenda in nearly everything.

Not So Good.
30 December, 2009
the chicken recipes are ok, but I don't need this book to cook chicken in my slow cooker, already have cookbooks and it is easy to make low carb with chicken.
vegetables are ok, not so impressed, but the deserts were horrible... and that what I need in low carb.. they tasted bad and came out overcooked.
the author definitely has a great knowledge in low carb diet, but she uses a lot of rare ingredients, believe me , difficult to find and expensive.. she never uses soy flour for thickening which is the main trick in her book though it is cheap, available and healthy...
I am still not sure if I want to keep the book because I am very busy to try most of it, but I might keep it just to get some help in my low carb diet, not too many books out there.. try George Stella's books , though fewer recipes, but very easy, taste great and available cheap ingredients.

Great Low-carb Recipes
08 February, 2010
We went low carb in Sept. I discovered Dana Carpender books at the library. My husband and I enjoyed her recipes so much, I decided to buy my own copy of the slow cooker recipes. Two of her other books I like are the 15-minute and 500 more recipes. I highly recommend her books.
