You Can't Make A Diagnosis You Don't Think Of
07 December, 2009
Where is the border line between health and a disease? According to standard medical diagnosis, it could be a tenth of a point on a scale. Above you're healthy and don't get treated. A tenth of a point lower and you're sick. Doesn't make sense to me. This is the case with adrenal function, those two small glands responsible for your ability to cope.
Some time ago, hypoadrenal - slow adrenal function - was a known medical diagnosis. Today, except for its extreme form, Addison's Disease, it is forgotten. If you go to your doctor feeling tired all the time, along with a series of symptoms defined clearly in this book (thorough questionnaire included), but test results aren't quite bad enough, you'll be told to go home and get enough sleep with the help of some sleep drug. You might be told to take an anti-depressant 'cause it's all in your head.
Since most doctors are ignorant of adrenal fatigue, or are afraid to step out of the box, you must read this book to learn about this common ailment. It is especially important if you are a practitioner of alternative medicine. The knowledge in this book can turn you into a hero, saving the quality of life of some clients. The presentation here is excellent, clear, easily read. The diagnostic questionnaire and other home tests make diagnosis easy. The lifestyle changes include diet, nutritional supplements and herbs for the body, as well as lots of wise councel for the soul. All in all, an easy 5-star book.

Tired Of Being Tired? Find Out What To Do...
13 December, 2009
The author states that most of the people in the United States have adrenal fatigue. This is not something that doctors find by testing. Nothing functions very well without the adrenalin produced by your adrenals.
It is well worth checking out. It takes a bit of reading time and perhaps a purchase of an herbal or glandular remedy and you're off and running with your old vigor!

Excellent Suggestions For Reviving Exhausted Adrenals
17 November, 2009
I believe that a prior reviewer may have confused the author, James Wilson with another doctor, Denis Wilson, who does sell adrenal supplements. Denis Wilson is the author of "Wilson's Temperature Syndrome" which is a treatment for restoring the thyroid to normal functioning using cycles of graduating doses of T3. I have used Denis Wilson's supplements and found them to be effective over long periods of time. Healing one's adrenals takes patience, dedication, and time.
This book is one of the best pieces of literature for describing how people run their adrenals down and how to prevent that from happening. The suggestions given for overcoming adrenal exhaustion are as good as far as they go.
If your adrenals are really shot, you may have to take a prescription medicine called Cortef in order to restore them to normal functioning. Cortef consists of small physiologic doses of hydrocortisone which is taken several times a day for a total of no more than 20 mg a day. This is less than the adrenals would normally produce in the form of cortisol. The Cortef allows the adrenals to rest and heal. Hopefully, you can wean yourself off of the Cortef after a few months or perhaps years. To get this treatment you will need to find a wholistic Physician. Traditional doctors are too close-minded. This treatment was originated by William McK. Jefferies, M.D. His book is "Safe Uses of Cortisol."
This book draws attention to the fact that wrong eating habits and faulty lifestyle will damage your adrenals. The suggestions for adrenal improvement are invaluable. I highly recommend it.
